| Abstract | Public safety always comes up when natural disasters strike a populated area. When rain levels exceed expected for a given time of year, civil defense is on alert on the possibility of loss of life, with special attention to said areas of 'risk'. The state of Rio de Janeiro, between December and March each year preparing for this delicate situation. Mapped areas from the viewpoint of recurrence of runoff from land, of course, are those that require more attention. The traditional mapping procedure that generates such products can be efficient even why almost no innovation geotecnológica do against them. And if we could make the determination of a natural hazard area paleomorfológico considering his behavior? For technical GIS employed in work that gave rise to this was aggregated to geological studies, lithological, pedological, geomorphological, hydrographic and morphostructural. The foundation is conceptualized in 'Method for Mapping morphostructural Geoenvironmental' (Jiménez-Rueda; Mattos, 1992) and promoted the paleogeomorfológica reconstruction of the State of Rio de Janeiro and its visualization through Isobases Confluent. It has been paleosuperfície of order 7 for the State of Rio de Janeiro, which corresponded to events recorded in the Cretaceous. The paleosurfaces that followed until the current erosive surface showed tectno-structural evolution in which the state now, and naturally prone areas morfomecânicos movements. It was found that GIS is efficiently applied as support for obtaining paleosurfaces tool, which can be used in the reconstruction of ecogeodinâmicos scenarios and study the evolutionary landscape. |
